MIDALPA, a company specializing in premium custom-made furniture, is reinforcing its sustainability strategy through industrial digitalization and resource optimization. The company has implemented advanced production technologies to maximize efficiency in material cutting and is preparing for the full integration of raw materials with international environmental certifications such as FSC and PEFC.
As part of this transformation, MIDALPA adopted 3D technical design and production engineering software that allows for the precise calculation of the utilization of each wood panel before it enters the cutting line, thus reducing raw material waste.
At the same time, the company is committed to using highly durable materials, such as water-repellent panels and high-quality lacquered finishes, promoting a sustainable alternative to the fast furniture model and prioritizing solutions designed for greater longevity.
To consolidate this position, MIDALPA is in an advanced stage of auditing to obtain FSC (Forest Stewardship) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certifications, ensuring that all the wood used comes from responsibly and sustainably managed forests.
Patrícia Gaspar, an engineer at MIDALPA, states that “The digitalization of production allows us to reduce waste, optimize raw materials, and respond more precisely to the demands of high-end hospitality and interior design projects. For MIDALPA, sustainability is not just a trend, but a way of producing with greater responsibility, efficiency, and durability.”
Founded by Patricia Gaspar, Miguel Fernandes, and Daniel Tinoco, MIDALPA emerged with the goal of integrating design and industrial carpentry skills, responding to the demand for custom-made technical and decorative furniture solutions. With its own production unit, the company guarantees quality control at every stage of the process, from design to final delivery.
